  • They have been a life-saver for the critters I was rescuing. - opossums, birds, squirrels. They really provide a wonderful service. I was surprised they have an area to teach baby birds how to fly. and take care of themselves before releasing close to where they were found. They teach all the babies how to take care of themselves before releasing. What I was really impressed with is they release them as close as possible to where they were found (as long as it is safe). The wildlife that can't be released are 'ambassadors' to children through introductory visits to schools. They have veterinarians and staff who volunteer their time helping these creatures. Hats off to them. They have a network of foster homes that specialize in birds or rabbits, or possums or squirrels, etc. If you love animals and would like to help, ask them what they may need in way of volunteering. They rescue larger and smaller wildlife other than what I have mentioned,

  • A group of caring volunteers who serve the wildlife and human communities by rehabbing and releasing orphaned and injured animals in the greater Sacramento area.

  • This group of volunteers rely strictly on donations and make every dime count! The amount of knowledge, dedication and determination they have is exemplary! Committed to help every living creature!

  • This is a wonderful non-profit charity that benefits our community and it's wildlife. They have minimal staff and truly rely on volunteers and donations to do their great work. This is the only local organization where residents in Sacramento and the surrounding areas can take young, sick or injured wildlife for care and rehabilitation. They get no funding from the city or county of Sacramento as some of the the other charities do. Please take time to vote for WCA and donate to help them continue to help our local wildlife.....:-)
