Tahoe Joe's is a terrific place with good food and lots of it. A friendly staff makes each visit very pleasant Seriously, these folks must looooove working here.
High priced? Maybe. The railroad shrimp and ribs are to die for. Eat the shrimp and take the ribs home; they heat up wonderfully unlike the shrimp which are best eaten pronto. The beans they serve with them are a close second in a to die-for contest. They use real bacon in everything.
It can be noisy but once you are seated the noise seems to dissipate maybe because of the high backs of the booths.
If you are seated near a large group there may be a noise issue. If you are eagle-eyed before you are seated, you can turn down a booth or table near the large group and opt for the next availability. Youse take your chances that the next availability is further away. The booths are plentiful and far-flung so your odds are good that waiting will get you seated away from the fun-loving and/or tipsy group.
There are quite a few large groups dining here which may attest to its good food and lots of if factor.
I am not giving it a five because I have had to send the ribs back when we were eating late (9ish) and they seem warmed-over. This happened twice and they serve up a new set immediately. Bad judgement on the part of the chef?
All in all, a jolly-good favorite.
When I found the Freeport Bakery and saw it was a bit crowded I knew it must be good.
The store is absolutely adorable inside and out. I was a bit disappointed at the limited seating. But I can get past that.
In addition to the great sweets, the breads are really good as well and the service was fast. A nice assortment of fresh, baked goods. They have great artistry in their desserts. I hear the bakery is known for their fruit basket cake .
I just had to have one of the bran muffins with cream cheese. My total was only a little over $6, not bad at all. Its definitely a 5 star place.
I love Togo's so much, I don't know the words to express how much a #24 on wheat, no onions and extra peppercines feels to me! Coming in second is the taco salad....have you tried this thing?
Who would of known the Taco Salad at Togo's could be the most amazing salad of your life- I love the people at this specific location- they know me by name, they know what i order- who could ask for more? Not I. Life is complete.
I'll never forget when I just moved here and drove two hours looking for a Togo's- that right there just tell you just how much it means to me :)
